Sunday Stamper challenge '300'

Well a bit late, only because I craft at a weekend,  so I am either early or last minute but ideas buzz round my head in between....I'd hoped I would be submitting a chunky ATC but after 2 hrs Mr Mojo exited and it went from bad to worse so I'll have to go back to the start with that one. However not to be beaten especially as it's the 300th this little hanging came together fairly quickly for 'Dream'  In fact it's not quite dry.

I stamped the butterflies on to 1 ply tissue (idea from Hels) and you can probably see a slight haze around the bottom one...because it is still a little wet.

I've used my favourite fresco paints, CW stencil, Kaisercraft Butterflies and treasure gold...........and I have managed to load the logo as well!

Mono printing

Quick 2nd post, I am entering this in the Craft Stamper Take It Make It challenge for March.

A bit different for me in colours and style, mine is very much inspired by Trish Latimers example. Whilst I wasn't trying to copy the original I just found the background lent itself to that design. I used background stamps and the hearts are stamped with Hero Arts text stamp, freehand cut out and scribbles with a posca pen.

Do like the texture of the paint, yummy.

Hogwarts staircases and ATC part 2

What??.....well one of the blogs I follow is Barbara Gray's Blog and if you haven't seen her first post then this link sums up how starting a blog feels or put another way it's like trying to navigate the 'Hogwarts staircases.' You think you know where you are going and then you end up somewhere else, you may find something you weren't looking for and want but you'll never find your way back to it again. I still haven't worked out how to load blinkies and gadgets like my Pinterest link, sort  my background picture out properly and many other things....but I know I will.
So I just thought as I am late posting the ATC part 2 I'd take the opportunity now to explain why and apologise for any future slips and trips.

ATC part 2

I 'ruined' the original paper with too much paint but then thought nothings really ruined, it's just going in a different direction, some distressing and it's a background to work on.

2 ATC's doesn't make a series ( is it 9 officially?) so make some more.

...but you can't repeat accidents, and  lovely as it is there was too much ginger peach primary elements.

Some more  painting and distressing later to tone them in.

Collage elements

chit chat stickers

Glass bead gel on 3 of them. Inspired by Lin Brown I remembered I had some and although the stamped flower underneath has faded I like the effect. A little treasure gold to highlight.

I like the effect of Wendy Vecchi embossing paste here (Sue Carrington post) but I haven't got any so on the remaining 3 used some Viva clear croco I had instead.

Just a couple more photos to finish. Hope you enjoyed it, thanks for dropping by.

Artist Trading Cards

Using some card I had stamped for the previous post, I wanted to see if I could use up some scraps from my 'bit box' and make some ATC's. There was enough base card to make 6, and here they are. As you can see some of the clear Ferro croco I have used isn't quite dry. I'll be back later with more details.

Sunday Stamper challenge '299'

Spurred on by the lovely comments from Hels after my first venture into blogland (huge thanks, I really appreciated it)..here is my entry for this weeks HAPPY theme It's a HAPPY birthday card for my mum this Saturday. As she doesn't even know I've started a blog I don't think she'll see it before the day.

I love the acid green leaves and vibrant flowers of spring and its the only time I use these colours. I've stamped the leaves (Lin Brown Ecletica) onto cotton paper using Hey Pesto and Limelight fresco paints.

I had some paint left over so rather than waste it I stencilled it onto some card stock through a CW stencil with the intention to use it for another project. As they are both translucent paints the background is showing through, I liked the effect.

...I painted the tissue for the flowers with fresco white and some paperartsy metallic glaze and used a script stamp (sorry not showing up very well)

and then I 'swooshed' a liitle violet and magenta pan pastel on before cutting out with the tattered florals die

After only doing faux stitching for the last challenge I thought I'd do some real stitching and yes it's meant to be wiggly!  a JOFY sentiment, some buttons and the piece of stencilled card was added in the background.

I hope she likes it....time now to think of a mothers day card....and visit the other challenge entries. Take care and be 'HAPPY'

At last....

........my first post. It's a wonderful creative world out there and having followed blogs and been inspired by some very talented people I decided to dip my toe in the water and join in with some of the challenges. There was only one way I could really do this and that's to start blogging...I mean I only joined blogger in 2008!
I'm not a techy but I did manage to set up a pinterest account a few months back and spurred on by that I have arrived here and on the last minute (as usual) I am entering below in the Sunday Stamper Challenge
The theme is a stitch in time. I've updated a set of cardboard drawers where I keep my sewing threads. The brief was to include some stitching faux or real. I had planned to stitch around the outside......but you can't do that when you've glued all the paper on can you?....(silly me) so faux it is.

I used some paper/card from my stash that I have had for ages ( think it's called 'Robins Nest') but they were all different shades of brown, so to tone them in I stencilled with different shades of fresco paints.

Some grunge paste through the stencils.

And some stamping with Tim Holtz Stampers Annonymous and a stitch stamp that I can't remember who made.

Finished with a little treasure gold...well a bit more than intended and some matt medium to seal.

I really hope this loads, fingers crossed.
