Back again to share more of the mini album or journal I created. A few details, some photos and I've quickly made a flip through video. Any questions I've not answered just leave a comment and I'll reply. I really appreciate all the interest and lovely comments and for many reasons I'm so glad I was given this creative opportunity.<br />

<br />
Grid background stamped, masked and then stamped again to create a larger background with WOW seafoam white EP<br />

<br />
Yes it's a trimmed down version of the Eileen Hull travel journal. Olive tree infusions throughout and the gold splats are Winsor and Newton gold metallic ink, you only need a tiny amount watered down, a little goes a long, long way. The ink just has that bling I wanted and soaks into the cartridge paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitRk2DQ5hyphenhyphenEkbVqJfoyUjHxO6AGZv4steABpiNFEvKdQgTJArkgg5iyaoDKih4YpNVW9QQxYrQjmNywYXx_oCie66EDcNxcwKRb40JazfuBKRoHQdYPEc6K-f6SHKWUlattFbdZZZz-jYE/s1600/IMG_3056.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitRk2DQ5hyphenhyphenEkbVqJfoyUjHxO6AGZv4steABpiNFEvKdQgTJArkgg5iyaoDKih4YpNVW9QQxYrQjmNywYXx_oCie66EDcNxcwKRb40JazfuBKRoHQdYPEc6K-f6SHKWUlattFbdZZZz-jYE/s640/IMG_3056.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The hand is stamped with infusions. To recap, use versamark on the stamp first then rub in a little infusions, spritz and stamp onto cartridge paper, dry with heat gun and then splat with the gold ink or splat before drying; I used both ways in the album. The infusions will reactivate when they get wet and just mingle a little more. You can also re spritz with water to get a few impressions.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlCLXSQRITLwamiutMOzRavk6qWHbcoy6Op2N97_PLTspCSsyVRiPZRqLgHO5joGGNsx5mxiAKJ5eMN-1lDUVKco0vihEPj77EWPFpiLEOxvSrwSUcrpR2bPZ0dccBbYzJscLEIPKEPtfM/s1600/IMG_3128.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlCLXSQRITLwamiutMOzRavk6qWHbcoy6Op2N97_PLTspCSsyVRiPZRqLgHO5joGGNsx5mxiAKJ5eMN-1lDUVKco0vihEPj77EWPFpiLEOxvSrwSUcrpR2bPZ0dccBbYzJscLEIPKEPtfM/s640/IMG_3128.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
The pages were decorated after assembly to give unity to the lay outs and I used pieces of spare cartridge paper under the sheet edges to protect the pages below and in the process realised I'd got some great coordinating paper to use on the edges of other pages.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWAHZeyA5t1tZIy2_P2VLjO7XExmF80QbMhic37gO2RLLqaLctk4EL5E5qiIe2k67nQw7uykJZLzJQKpX4VxT1JpzOkJ6_K2M21Az1rdrLgR2Rspu0KMj9eQh2aPS0drRM3iTJZuMwUqBQ/s1600/IMG_3233.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWAHZeyA5t1tZIy2_P2VLjO7XExmF80QbMhic37gO2RLLqaLctk4EL5E5qiIe2k67nQw7uykJZLzJQKpX4VxT1JpzOkJ6_K2M21Az1rdrLgR2Rspu0KMj9eQh2aPS0drRM3iTJZuMwUqBQ/s640/IMG_3233.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used archival ink in two tones for most of the other stamping and WOW bonding powder on the die cuts to enable me to add some foiling.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjomU4VEuB9PzwE2sKy1Cl87dofWE0KiKLw9PgccdAiaXfipV_w9zVriTZ7fzuiwo5lsdPn53J0Yxq9p-2qXujIAlHTGMcdotyF7dTdqFEg39mDxAREi5kqphelex8-IuGEwJruFg5jJDq4/s1600/IMG_3040.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjomU4VEuB9PzwE2sKy1Cl87dofWE0KiKLw9PgccdAiaXfipV_w9zVriTZ7fzuiwo5lsdPn53J0Yxq9p-2qXujIAlHTGMcdotyF7dTdqFEg39mDxAREi5kqphelex8-IuGEwJruFg5jJDq4/s640/IMG_3040.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's the video and as it's a walk through you can just pause to see the pages in more detail. No audio on this occasion.<br />

Lastly just to show the versatility of the stamps, a simply stamped card in subdued colours with some bling. I love subdued, neutral colours with a touch of bling.</div>

My top 3 favourite stamps from the A5 sets are on this, the spring, watch and sketchy spiral. My favourites from the minis are the hand and seek....but that's if I really have to choose!</div>

Hi everyone, super excited to be sharing my 'playtime' with the fabulous new Seth Apter stamps over on the <a href="https://blog.paperartsy.co.uk/" target="_blank"><i><span style="color: purple;">PaperArtsy</span></i></a> blog tonight! The stamps were released yesterday with 2 A5 plates and lots of minis!!<br />
Inspiration really hit me with these and I used them all in creating a mini album. I'll be back soon with a run through of the album but will just share a couple of pics to whet your appetite...hop across for more details.<br />

Hi everyone and welcome to what will be our last challenge at <a href="https://stampsandstencils.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><i><span style="color: purple;">Stamps and Stencils</span></i></a>...... here's Sue to explain... '<i>It's Sue here with you today for the start of the new challenge but also the end of a journey. The December challenge will be the last one for Stamps and Stencils, we have had a lot of fun over the three years we have been together but now it's time for a change in direction. I personally want to thank everyone who has visited us and those who have participated in our challenges. I also want to thank the Design Team for producing fantastic projects month after month and some amazing Inspirational Posts. So now it's time to share the theme for this last challenge. <b>It's got to be Christmas! </b>Possibly predictive but as everyone gets busy for the festive season time seems to disappear at a fast pace, so we're keeping it simple . For this challenge we want to keep it festive and see your Christmas themed creations, just remember it must be mixed media and include stamping and/or stenciling.</i><br />
<br />
All things come to an end so to wrap things up for this challenge (see what I did there!) I've created a snowflake gift box.<br />
<br />
Lid on...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi7JGSKlk9FiIv1xnEOjqXGyDM5be9fgxlXvOx9u75Rg6APDhWNgnQ8-gEwwC4HopsO2vP5VWJFYicIm3g7l5dQPJr9uk83DQKZOOr_wFKCoaxSq9eANf0xulzmk7sqL-H8dUt19MeOpIH/s1600/IMG_2917.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi7JGSKlk9FiIv1xnEOjqXGyDM5be9fgxlXvOx9u75Rg6APDhWNgnQ8-gEwwC4HopsO2vP5VWJFYicIm3g7l5dQPJr9uk83DQKZOOr_wFKCoaxSq9eANf0xulzmk7sqL-H8dUt19MeOpIH/s640/IMG_2917.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Lid off...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJXhm1VVpdpecsFMjdvWc3WbLAvf2IrlHx_h-8RA-bnng4EYBbyZcIpHrW8ZPHvnd_x_Am6DJF2Mqh-3IPv84lYL0isEgBk_LFMHRflkA-q1SSP_l_-KyJt8wb7ZZSWVSFSJ34tRcAh5jA/s1600/IMG_2918.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJXhm1VVpdpecsFMjdvWc3WbLAvf2IrlHx_h-8RA-bnng4EYBbyZcIpHrW8ZPHvnd_x_Am6DJF2Mqh-3IPv84lYL0isEgBk_LFMHRflkA-q1SSP_l_-KyJt8wb7ZZSWVSFSJ34tRcAh5jA/s640/IMG_2918.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
So to start - this was a container which I coated with gesso and then went mixed media mad, adding loads of textures, with stamps and stencils and all manner of pastes, sprays and glitter. See a gap and fill it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwL3ghdqme6zQ2doN1UpndnA7lV4p5duMuztqrJL4O3u59RveFbYf5cX4UI4De3LdHysCqBGfyguDf4e0i2_6GbfjTq2qT2TgQraSbnVLaMP-8WpJRKQr2PLPlE9IULyHAleNKEl80M0wE/s1600/IMG_2881.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwL3ghdqme6zQ2doN1UpndnA7lV4p5duMuztqrJL4O3u59RveFbYf5cX4UI4De3LdHysCqBGfyguDf4e0i2_6GbfjTq2qT2TgQraSbnVLaMP-8WpJRKQr2PLPlE9IULyHAleNKEl80M0wE/s640/IMG_2881.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Not forgetting the lid....just a touch of glitter...<br />

Hi everyone, time for our November challenge over at <a href="https://stampsandstencils.blogspot.com/2018/11/remember-remember-5th-of-november.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>Stamps and Stencils</i></span></a>, hosted by the lovely and talented <span style="color: purple; font-style: italic;"><a href="https://craftdabbler-toni.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Toni</a>. </span>Here's what Toni wants us to do.<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">I've got a 'bonfire night' challenge for you this month. As a child, I used to love bonfire night. My dad would come home from work with a box of fireworks and packets of sparklers for us and we couldn't wait to get outside and enjoy the show! I'd love to see your art works based on fire and fireworks. Think bursts of colour. Let rip with the colour sprays, glitter, and paints. Let's have a bit of fun and brighten up these dark days with COLOUR ! Just remember it must be mixed media and include stamps or stencils or even both.</span><br />
<br />
Now I haven't gone down a traditional route and stuck strictly to the fireworks brief but I have been inspired by the colours and splashes of brightness against a dark sky that you get with fireworks and created some journal pages using bright...and I mean BRIGHT colours.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXYAAg1oiPHfi7czmdZc4KgbjihHOZV7SG5fMxQUDccoERaisZzMBLBBNR89T1UVUlWOqYK-UiJoqVcXiUQ4FWm4pN0UjEtjPOBa7fIMPbI3W78fJPjJZ59CKoCHviNmtRwkplOK7GzIdA/s1600/IMG_2616.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXYAAg1oiPHfi7czmdZc4KgbjihHOZV7SG5fMxQUDccoERaisZzMBLBBNR89T1UVUlWOqYK-UiJoqVcXiUQ4FWm4pN0UjEtjPOBa7fIMPbI3W78fJPjJZ59CKoCHviNmtRwkplOK7GzIdA/s640/IMG_2616.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I used black gesso to cover some white pages and I was certainly impressed with the new Pebeo black gesso I had bought, great coverage! I wanted the colours to pop against the night sky.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHRoM2-CzEZGKOGmRmmQ5pkILzL5Y6tNlMTY999a_aI7IP53iu8PRWSzHgMyqcDZRDJjciIafY5IiKWMKoQrrh4iI0SYq6_r-lYHEB3CfyAwWsUn6BwmPOilGBAWoo8_J0t67hyphenhypheng6y_lBa/s1600/IMG_2554.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHRoM2-CzEZGKOGmRmmQ5pkILzL5Y6tNlMTY999a_aI7IP53iu8PRWSzHgMyqcDZRDJjciIafY5IiKWMKoQrrh4iI0SYq6_r-lYHEB3CfyAwWsUn6BwmPOilGBAWoo8_J0t67hyphenhypheng6y_lBa/s640/IMG_2554.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I then used gelli printed deli paper to cover the pages.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge2LjTAUJY2ppRafGDma0kintHE6tnHy7WDfvuYVx31gklTl9xRFgklt_fdFND9qNzPA7btrSApRcbLPPGU9qCHTbTTCB-JZGzofoN5AMLwHVkcFoTHicdjlwQJ3RcSWB4CReC5afx6Z2y/s1600/IMG_2558.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge2LjTAUJY2ppRafGDma0kintHE6tnHy7WDfvuYVx31gklTl9xRFgklt_fdFND9qNzPA7btrSApRcbLPPGU9qCHTbTTCB-JZGzofoN5AMLwHVkcFoTHicdjlwQJ3RcSWB4CReC5afx6Z2y/s640/IMG_2558.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I stuck to pinks, purples, orange and a touch of turquoise...the wrinkles add texture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFDx1rEWcTzt6Bg35GWVGFCFppXSyw_UTQSJfXxywEMlgNFuYDs0rkv5lHtHJzPpf0E5jRaKxJJiymRJKndRCwbMi-IGw2zJwS3eyHuNt7FklDnov4P3P19oDO1RbP4DPTvcKiOfBboWLj/s1600/IMG_2563.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFDx1rEWcTzt6Bg35GWVGFCFppXSyw_UTQSJfXxywEMlgNFuYDs0rkv5lHtHJzPpf0E5jRaKxJJiymRJKndRCwbMi-IGw2zJwS3eyHuNt7FklDnov4P3P19oDO1RbP4DPTvcKiOfBboWLj/s640/IMG_2563.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
More printed paper and fluorescent and pearlescent paint. I retrieved my foam stamps that looked like a Catherine wheel, but in the end I didn't use them...that's the joy of going with the flow on an art journal page. Layering up.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGvIs1DBMLdvyFRj8HkFOSfRoG_HSQ99_1PpEezlVPbxhv4_fs-SnAS29cwArPGH-QeaEIuRI73L69TuprKjHu9Fb5Zc8NfN7AqkcbTzHJZh6JbqHt-7LMvNWyn9MI00GthdplkY8CoVHS/s1600/IMG_2568.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGvIs1DBMLdvyFRj8HkFOSfRoG_HSQ99_1PpEezlVPbxhv4_fs-SnAS29cwArPGH-QeaEIuRI73L69TuprKjHu9Fb5Zc8NfN7AqkcbTzHJZh6JbqHt-7LMvNWyn9MI00GthdplkY8CoVHS/s640/IMG_2568.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Finger painting is always great fun.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAlNIqZCAfHYl8uWQIxC-gDH2YR-EbSjfe-qQvguOZoKI8Y1Xtp55JbQnYv-IF16I69xEpCt_FsH_938Ezwa00fGdQyJuFKj8U7vjYj11Xivbx0Fu5yFsWfw0ElyHuNBkwIBTOcOh8pxhY/s1600/IMG_2575.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAlNIqZCAfHYl8uWQIxC-gDH2YR-EbSjfe-qQvguOZoKI8Y1Xtp55JbQnYv-IF16I69xEpCt_FsH_938Ezwa00fGdQyJuFKj8U7vjYj11Xivbx0Fu5yFsWfw0ElyHuNBkwIBTOcOh8pxhY/s640/IMG_2575.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I punched out circles of colour to add even more contrast.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqw4172zXc3NXNxObhkd4Glsy1k9yHfzXdbVZaLmpdQGJ0VsLv0dLOy4IgiojT738HxHzootArMJ4MqYdG6JFRD8NhyphenhyphenUJm_CFJY3Dz3Adyexg4Pmc8gQNtZ7HThHXS2eVCuFmf_mSA6HUu/s1600/IMG_2576.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqw4172zXc3NXNxObhkd4Glsy1k9yHfzXdbVZaLmpdQGJ0VsLv0dLOy4IgiojT738HxHzootArMJ4MqYdG6JFRD8NhyphenhyphenUJm_CFJY3Dz3Adyexg4Pmc8gQNtZ7HThHXS2eVCuFmf_mSA6HUu/s640/IMG_2576.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
One of my most used stencils is a joggles one and I think it looks like fireworks exploding.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioYbkJdId4BWiHtxIRFa7m3s4P2QCaN1mW5KmlerC4A25IOxmpzRs6_j8xEInuGCJf-nEwdKWqbrBARCAFZU52AHAcrMW0ZVxyj5y6d_FPcG4o9ZGwFkQzBxFifm2ZrfGJpNRP-XooUp3I/s1600/IMG_2580.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioYbkJdId4BWiHtxIRFa7m3s4P2QCaN1mW5KmlerC4A25IOxmpzRs6_j8xEInuGCJf-nEwdKWqbrBARCAFZU52AHAcrMW0ZVxyj5y6d_FPcG4o9ZGwFkQzBxFifm2ZrfGJpNRP-XooUp3I/s640/IMG_2580.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Hopefully you can see all the layers building...and hopefully reminiscent of fireworks exploding in colour.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCFx8YVp9i8xfG3b100DNnM67xUIBp0K75p0jbgMURBntAyXVt6E3CN6SfrkGeoccWOE-V89B8MVyVr6UKjX3Y5Hoa-V1baA81lUyj-o9ZmJkF1e1UD2jvATeow-Djsaic5aWfjf8fFE5l/s1600/IMG_2630.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCFx8YVp9i8xfG3b100DNnM67xUIBp0K75p0jbgMURBntAyXVt6E3CN6SfrkGeoccWOE-V89B8MVyVr6UKjX3Y5Hoa-V1baA81lUyj-o9ZmJkF1e1UD2jvATeow-Djsaic5aWfjf8fFE5l/s640/IMG_2630.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Having added all this colour I now needed to rein it in and create some contrast with black...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
and white.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I painted some blocks of black so I could add more contrast and add some words. Now the words have nothing to do with bonfire night unless you need to brave on Bonfire night! The words of Dina Wakley seemed appropriate for me personally at the moment, be brave, be strong, but most of all...be kind. A little kindness can go a long way in this world...and on that note I wish you a happy crafting time and hope you'll all join in and be inspired by the Design Teams fabulous creations.<br />

I know we're saying goodbye to summer now but these yummy new colours inspired something a little a beach themed. Hi everyone, it's October already and we're nearing the end of another year, the nights are drawing in and there's a chill in the air..all of which is a bit scary and the perfect time to have our new challenge at Stamps and Stencils and hosted by the talented Rachel.<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 13.2px;"><i>'I would love to see your mixed media makes with a Spooky theme, but if Spooky is not your thing then Autumnal colours also fit the bill ! - you can make anything you like as long as it is in a mixed media style and involves stamps or stencils!!! Enjoy!'</i></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXOnMhcJG2dAtaqVFBm3tPP-8TWYi2F5yUKk9UI5Rk7Cu0orWmKPDi8MYzZZ5PVUTwqaeUiJgv1WAmbmC-TkPhAD5vwsEFlo1tqmFnalJA7eboPeOWTi7mrNcf1u2qMfhx-9MUQJajLPSn/s1600/IMG_2421.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXOnMhcJG2dAtaqVFBm3tPP-8TWYi2F5yUKk9UI5Rk7Cu0orWmKPDi8MYzZZ5PVUTwqaeUiJgv1WAmbmC-TkPhAD5vwsEFlo1tqmFnalJA7eboPeOWTi7mrNcf1u2qMfhx-9MUQJajLPSn/s640/IMG_2421.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So a Halloween themed door hanger is what I've created and I really enjoyed stepping out of my normal style and colours for this...but the glitter did creep in!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFMX-jLBFMkL1-vD31OKwoY9QbiUJwdxqEojYG75paGovMjMeygPUbMPZr1_fCLlmwGl1pwmjcN7Y-jQ6iNwDQPpIk_8PlGFi-Ogysw4GXJJNRcvw9Zf-Cfq3QlgNxbtngqgi-XT-AbG19/s1600/IMG_2398.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFMX-jLBFMkL1-vD31OKwoY9QbiUJwdxqEojYG75paGovMjMeygPUbMPZr1_fCLlmwGl1pwmjcN7Y-jQ6iNwDQPpIk_8PlGFi-Ogysw4GXJJNRcvw9Zf-Cfq3QlgNxbtngqgi-XT-AbG19/s640/IMG_2398.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I used a calico craft parts mdf door hanger I've had for a while and after a coat of little black dress fresco paint I used the shatter stencil which always reminds me of a spider's web. I stencilled squid ink paint over the black so the black 'web' showed through. I also used some webbing spray.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAslhj7palh1Dk7dJBmCH_eNGFRuey-tX8oNUraIKut0r43BFuUHSprvCmDJRiJKpdoiQXDRLVTAHGrPGI3E2CasAZdwHUGylVD7ChwWwWAmIhg05G2xizDyan0-VCbVY9RBDhYAadQ2cz/s1600/IMG_2418.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAslhj7palh1Dk7dJBmCH_eNGFRuey-tX8oNUraIKut0r43BFuUHSprvCmDJRiJKpdoiQXDRLVTAHGrPGI3E2CasAZdwHUGylVD7ChwWwWAmIhg05G2xizDyan0-VCbVY9RBDhYAadQ2cz/s640/IMG_2418.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The ingredients<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4NMMmJ-GySezXdkQ6ljsDoXMg8UpnO18ev0BJh3xeOg3BZ9S3BX1_R0nXrRsEiQR70rwNXWaLiTEqJv2l7T9xHY5i0warSFgSEbQOV4nRfetX4h6Mt-ql0VU06Z-kjRAbstBPPDaY9cpq/s1600/IMG_2410.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4NMMmJ-GySezXdkQ6ljsDoXMg8UpnO18ev0BJh3xeOg3BZ9S3BX1_R0nXrRsEiQR70rwNXWaLiTEqJv2l7T9xHY5i0warSFgSEbQOV4nRfetX4h6Mt-ql0VU06Z-kjRAbstBPPDaY9cpq/s640/IMG_2410.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I then used the stencil again with graphite texture paste and sprinkled black soot distress glitter over it and once dry added a few splatters of coral and snowflake paint<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIbLNEOrTYoM3-6IEJvGFPvaZK1BP4T_q8k-ugNVXxzWm1Xj10pXmINFjyK7GUyvfki91B2zKL6tf2AlNcid4IL2xkdTXMYmFZEi22MwxKcuKWdvr9A4IHm_n9xObudWQqYCoJpJWzl3Ty/s1600/IMG_2395.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIbLNEOrTYoM3-6IEJvGFPvaZK1BP4T_q8k-ugNVXxzWm1Xj10pXmINFjyK7GUyvfki91B2zKL6tf2AlNcid4IL2xkdTXMYmFZEi22MwxKcuKWdvr9A4IHm_n9xObudWQqYCoJpJWzl3Ty/s640/IMG_2395.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Smoothy card painted and some black knight infusions over the orange paint...then stamping and embossing in black glint embossing powder.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsU84A7zlc-GyvmnLOgusB0lGr6MLriSMQ4S5rr93mR6sW5T30HnfyKWVZWV28v4OOJpT9jW2Rqu6tvxev4S_Blb2NMBQAXggapbFmCY1Nw5hF2O2QWO68g-8OiClDJcCW5CELdy6JD4R4/s1600/IMG_2429.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsU84A7zlc-GyvmnLOgusB0lGr6MLriSMQ4S5rr93mR6sW5T30HnfyKWVZWV28v4OOJpT9jW2Rqu6tvxev4S_Blb2NMBQAXggapbFmCY1Nw5hF2O2QWO68g-8OiClDJcCW5CELdy6JD4R4/s640/IMG_2429.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
After a few trials I decided most of the images should be on purple and the script on orange...and of course the pumpkins had to be orange!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji7o3iQIH6wIEs8FYytbFLrlYSGCjfppIiZ8gNBHh7VHTsNYp6yioKow9LQ5POeBXOQ7EW6Xo8keLpxkd5nwPZnSuKqnIUUvwUFOvhwCrFGEsK9F54DNF4p1b9v2TcAkHSjeZpOu3Zp23P/s1600/IMG_2426.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji7o3iQIH6wIEs8FYytbFLrlYSGCjfppIiZ8gNBHh7VHTsNYp6yioKow9LQ5POeBXOQ7EW6Xo8keLpxkd5nwPZnSuKqnIUUvwUFOvhwCrFGEsK9F54DNF4p1b9v2TcAkHSjeZpOu3Zp23P/s640/IMG_2426.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The stamps are a mix of a paperArtsy hotpicks plate and an old waltzing mouse stamp set.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I rather like how the skull turned out and there is lots of stamping an stencilling on this one. That's my spooky contribution for this month but if spooky isn't your 'thing' then you can still join in with our challenge and just go autumnal, for lots of inspiration hop over to see what the rest of the team have created!<br />

Hi, <i><a href="http://www.stampingsuestyle.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;">Sue</span></a></i> is our talented host for this months challenge at Stamps and Stencils and this month it's an <a href="http://stampsandstencils.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>'Anything Goes'</i></span></a> theme. Here's what she wants you to do.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i><b>It's been a while - </b>Being creative often leads you in different directions and sometimes it isn't until you start that you know where you are heading. For this challenge I thought that as we've not done it for a while it would be good to let your creative spirit wander and have a theme of Anything Goes. Your project must be mixed media and include stamping and/or stencilling but apart from that it's up to you !</i></div>
<br />
So this is an idea I've been thinking about for a while and definitely inspired by some artwork by the very talented Diana Taylor of <a href="http://velvetmothstudio.blogspot.com/2015/01/paper-artsy-challenge-fragile-papers.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>'Velvet Moth Studio'</i></span></a>, she produces exquisite work, if you haven't visited her before you're in for a treat.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHaspEluXLC0WuvV2eZOyM4a_e7ceYGXOmyOGXzsUgQmHXCMto47l_zEAaoK6Wtc3iZ4Q6L7eFsRV2XaEqVScQFCRd2GoyuGac-1BKZdzF2NdZmtq-aiB1IqQgEDYQNrMsI3Im0s6BaHdn/s1600/IMG_2146.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHaspEluXLC0WuvV2eZOyM4a_e7ceYGXOmyOGXzsUgQmHXCMto47l_zEAaoK6Wtc3iZ4Q6L7eFsRV2XaEqVScQFCRd2GoyuGac-1BKZdzF2NdZmtq-aiB1IqQgEDYQNrMsI3Im0s6BaHdn/s640/IMG_2146.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
This book cover was crumbling so I didn't feel guilty about re purposing it, inspired by the title I've created a little piece of 'Wonderland' I think the book cover was originally yellow but has now turned lovely shade of ochre.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk8DFxVlsiYrPe9menIygX3NsBDED1GAIqdX7L-AIaMycqtscIOAKBfxVRayNydYnkQKRjmUnMRhG6hHoSDRgYBF3iDsyWNFZ_4KLyOiLaopF3qbNauLoiYyVecZj1qOePiVszIe3h3eQl/s1600/IMG_2137.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk8DFxVlsiYrPe9menIygX3NsBDED1GAIqdX7L-AIaMycqtscIOAKBfxVRayNydYnkQKRjmUnMRhG6hHoSDRgYBF3iDsyWNFZ_4KLyOiLaopF3qbNauLoiYyVecZj1qOePiVszIe3h3eQl/s640/IMG_2137.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A little stamping with a Wendy Vecchi stamp in archival ink and I decided I would stick to a yellow, grey and white palette.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Tyvek ironed on a moulding mat... make sure you use parchment paper between your iron and the tyvek!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiQe41Jvmh3ZmKAb4IcSrClfg_fGSWrHXsOYU-OCQWBk_OzJewXlElOeDkyZ4Xq68r_O3rl6zfu22W-oYW4ZByNB_yPKBQmmOUA36MSbVAwvavad-2C1LEM1Tfwp9KrbcdKcKLTEiG0-y-/s1600/IMG_2138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiQe41Jvmh3ZmKAb4IcSrClfg_fGSWrHXsOYU-OCQWBk_OzJewXlElOeDkyZ4Xq68r_O3rl6zfu22W-oYW4ZByNB_yPKBQmmOUA36MSbVAwvavad-2C1LEM1Tfwp9KrbcdKcKLTEiG0-y-/s640/IMG_2138.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I roughly arranged where I wanted the collage elements to go and added some crackle paste underneath.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG6avFQJtpov2gyn_jw4kPpIg828JEQC8cxafrzvb_sORMcslCWyKnt5YcBwtDr-JTelKe6kiN1NWnebfXswP3xLR7NMM76Yip4Cik9cdqfqgv6IMZGtvxFckA2Kq7Fy0uJL8Q_ilQR9GH/s1600/IMG_2140.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG6avFQJtpov2gyn_jw4kPpIg828JEQC8cxafrzvb_sORMcslCWyKnt5YcBwtDr-JTelKe6kiN1NWnebfXswP3xLR7NMM76Yip4Cik9cdqfqgv6IMZGtvxFckA2Kq7Fy0uJL8Q_ilQR9GH/s640/IMG_2140.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I added in the 'march hare' or is it the 'white rabbit'?<br />

<br />
I'd originally stamped some bottles underneath, but they had almost disappeared so one bottle of magic potion nestled nicely on the binding with the invitation to drink me.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqaT2vCjEDWrZ2ZVqnN1pN012qR3K8B1l28mJ67Dr7nw13fwEp1-wg6U0tFyqjKzQO-xvigB1FjKSetAjrbkh6LSbR8Jxnu-PG9cGgpUPo_4OT2ebdGYclbnEg5919C86fJVIKLIAPZ5fR/s1600/IMG_2150.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqaT2vCjEDWrZ2ZVqnN1pN012qR3K8B1l28mJ67Dr7nw13fwEp1-wg6U0tFyqjKzQO-xvigB1FjKSetAjrbkh6LSbR8Jxnu-PG9cGgpUPo_4OT2ebdGYclbnEg5919C86fJVIKLIAPZ5fR/s640/IMG_2150.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Although I liked the arrangement I was lacking a focal point or something to link the bottle to the spine; a little lace added texture and then these paper rosebuds seemed to fit the bill and when I remembered about the queen wanting her white roses painted red they became perfect.<br />
<br />

Hi everyone, time for our next challenge at <i><span style="color: purple;"><a href="https://stampsandstencils.blogspot.com/2018/08/industrialgrungy.html" target="_blank">Stamps and Stencils</a></span></i> and the lovely Cec is our host this month; this time she wants us to include some metal in an Industrial or Grungy creation. Here's what she wants us to do...<br />
<br />
<i>Create a mixed media project with some stamping and/or stenciling that puts off a very industrial and grungy vibe - be sure to include lots of metal and texture.</i><br />
<br />
It was lovely to get a bit grungy and rusty with paint, powders, bits and bobs. I've decorated a 7 x 5 canvas panel for my metal montage!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh45fXqFR_mQfuLs-xrSx1BxXw1A8VrSABrFF3zpoUQnBql2VAjoz15WbrT-NJxcabk6etyJr0f3RizsoUp_5OHBFPdf8WwqBbAG-9HuDGjCo8lODRgjsJpfT-idcU17QuA4pC3ehjyB6WD/s1600/IMG_1930.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh45fXqFR_mQfuLs-xrSx1BxXw1A8VrSABrFF3zpoUQnBql2VAjoz15WbrT-NJxcabk6etyJr0f3RizsoUp_5OHBFPdf8WwqBbAG-9HuDGjCo8lODRgjsJpfT-idcU17QuA4pC3ehjyB6WD/s640/IMG_1930.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I started off by adding some texture through a stencil.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu6ThhUJ30iVsmto4fCZWw56s5wAyR42O4mM_u62pNaPuPHnNcP0TVnnCBL9DzxT7lZivC4wGkkYpdIb5i2MuoYFCacbiQOuAC03e-iiK4aCrh1SzNzfKxv7ikMXJ6Z0DzgAW9_SYRB7Ky/s1600/IMG_1922.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu6ThhUJ30iVsmto4fCZWw56s5wAyR42O4mM_u62pNaPuPHnNcP0TVnnCBL9DzxT7lZivC4wGkkYpdIb5i2MuoYFCacbiQOuAC03e-iiK4aCrh1SzNzfKxv7ikMXJ6Z0DzgAW9_SYRB7Ky/s640/IMG_1922.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Next painty layers; now I began using Seth's monoprint technique with paint on watercolour card but because the canvas was already textured I found that dry brushing and scraping on paint with a pallette knife worked really well. I used fresco paints in Brown Shed, Claret, Smoked Paprika, Green Patina and Little Black Dress.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNXaJPvtHxM61YwdDUqgOre8VStxXThf185LM5riUHQc111XbXJke_CLAOkq120pVyOORnP90B2C7gZuADAHbC03eK0vLMfhdKpcxPKBxykGosX6ZQ7nIMqmJlTL910NFRbxb4eK6PRgxu/s1600/IMG_1925.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNXaJPvtHxM61YwdDUqgOre8VStxXThf185LM5riUHQc111XbXJke_CLAOkq120pVyOORnP90B2C7gZuADAHbC03eK0vLMfhdKpcxPKBxykGosX6ZQ7nIMqmJlTL910NFRbxb4eK6PRgxu/s640/IMG_1925.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Just keep layering until the magic happens!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn0pJ-FOtIPxjMOs40hgAvS74xs41rvc2NQAFVk2hGI5s0VSrgrndH4HwBTLMoYnY9W5sLDiVuYZ_Nd1hkBI98S7Nd3CBtUPGp0uYSmPtGrarpZMfGGbouQeFJ32wOAfQMn8ExIX7ament/s1600/IMG_1937.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn0pJ-FOtIPxjMOs40hgAvS74xs41rvc2NQAFVk2hGI5s0VSrgrndH4HwBTLMoYnY9W5sLDiVuYZ_Nd1hkBI98S7Nd3CBtUPGp0uYSmPtGrarpZMfGGbouQeFJ32wOAfQMn8ExIX7ament/s640/IMG_1937.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I used some of Seth's chipboard shapes as well as chipboard cogs, metal gears, hinges....alsorts and added some texture paste before painting with Little Black Dress ( my black gesso had turned into a solid mass in the recent heatwave...but my fresco paints were still perfect) and the dry brushing with Snowflake.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVW0LTKhWJS7X5CuapHMZ_RDz-hV7eqUpMSiiQxtl8yGkNDLdYOF9DISHZj6-iMcABJ5KrFQ0Fdj0QsiBByrCRz57d_Rb69ttZ8q0eIA_tiK_oSLk2RrrtkXv9XE2AxAhfD8C2xM5SHEeI/s1600/IMG_1926.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVW0LTKhWJS7X5CuapHMZ_RDz-hV7eqUpMSiiQxtl8yGkNDLdYOF9DISHZj6-iMcABJ5KrFQ0Fdj0QsiBByrCRz57d_Rb69ttZ8q0eIA_tiK_oSLk2RrrtkXv9XE2AxAhfD8C2xM5SHEeI/s640/IMG_1926.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I then used verdigris and copper embossing powder as well as lots of dry brushing with paints and treasure gold.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbq6AdQ1LgZjhK09eUJgKpFubMNAX5giksjR4TlXs0dRc88hmj6qQtjU4uTFY2ona3L7iSblNq0QMj8VBjHJODBuj2ta2eeiKt5baly9-XHxIaLmSrjq4kS4BQdJLdYm7N5nVu0BmM7UnT/s1600/IMG_1935.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbq6AdQ1LgZjhK09eUJgKpFubMNAX5giksjR4TlXs0dRc88hmj6qQtjU4uTFY2ona3L7iSblNq0QMj8VBjHJODBuj2ta2eeiKt5baly9-XHxIaLmSrjq4kS4BQdJLdYm7N5nVu0BmM7UnT/s640/IMG_1935.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
As Cec has asked for metal to be used I did patina some copper to add to the the canvas but I decided that was one embellishment too far and liked the result at this stage, however there are still lots of metal embellishments within the piece.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic5jUUACsn4TTnYdV4ttrm5_pCgA39Q3sA-DxWqi4GZEq0fVJ3MDZqqZn0dn3IZvRvk-tTvdQGiURNdAQY7YJRWGj72OX7jn4QmyNOeiEoPeihSuGkAbr8Lt6puXrhC0Kwa9AFhhlfJwEF/s1600/IMG_1955.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic5jUUACsn4TTnYdV4ttrm5_pCgA39Q3sA-DxWqi4GZEq0fVJ3MDZqqZn0dn3IZvRvk-tTvdQGiURNdAQY7YJRWGj72OX7jn4QmyNOeiEoPeihSuGkAbr8Lt6puXrhC0Kwa9AFhhlfJwEF/s640/IMG_1955.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Finally I stamped some letters on scrap card used during the painty process (I always think this is a great way to get a background for stamping that ties in with the finished result). I'd also used some number stamps in black archival on the piece but they've faded with the layering.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzyjCZCEHCUxkPNFNNgHFgvCUmX_pIjusFDaJ79ETQK4D4dvjZtVe6vR14araPEbYefFAmrWTq_xW6zKDvpBwTD-Ut6zOltLqJHg_UuPUkIIHU27TxMWfYztl1aSEA-_5Jl_B4MmzVhRDr/s1600/IMG_1940.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzyjCZCEHCUxkPNFNNgHFgvCUmX_pIjusFDaJ79ETQK4D4dvjZtVe6vR14araPEbYefFAmrWTq_xW6zKDvpBwTD-Ut6zOltLqJHg_UuPUkIIHU27TxMWfYztl1aSEA-_5Jl_B4MmzVhRDr/s640/IMG_1940.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

Hi everyone, it's been a while but I'm back after a short but necessary break and it's my choice of topic for this months challenge at <a href="http://stampsandstencils.blogspot.com/2018/07/ombre.html" target="_blank"><i><span style="color: purple;">Stamps and Stencils</span></i>.</a> I've chosen to play with colour this month and it's all about Ombré!<br />
<br />
<i>Ombré has been in fashion for a while now and not just in art...or even hair! It's a french word meaning 'a colour that is shaded or graduated in tone'...so for this challenge we want to see projects or part of your project that has one (or more) colour that graduates from it's lightest pastel tint to its darkest shade...with a little stamping or stenciling of course! </i><br />
<i><br /></i>
It's double Ombré from me as I've used the technique on both the background and flowers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzqWfqMb0U_I4h5swfYGME9xR-7u9rIo-2aF9FyHSUFU15Mn8Igyb6hhRT5IbXZDyqQ8B6_eD0aChwdLzz37w_AC3jqj1Uw1OO2p3IE3AFyZj1vwryGn4x_jCHKZ-8pETvDo6ysxk02lY5/s1600/IMG_1750+%25283%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzqWfqMb0U_I4h5swfYGME9xR-7u9rIo-2aF9FyHSUFU15Mn8Igyb6hhRT5IbXZDyqQ8B6_eD0aChwdLzz37w_AC3jqj1Uw1OO2p3IE3AFyZj1vwryGn4x_jCHKZ-8pETvDo6ysxk02lY5/s640/IMG_1750+%25283%2529.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
To start with I reused a canvas and just added to the texture with some grunge paste.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2mbvjBt1fT6a0nFaq3DdHYCytYcQZtcP-wpLwjMPQxDHL2ObLKyBhXM97ZEvzPGBkdwObjWgcKCOO2AoiZTR-jNYpCoRsLSlP_B1ePlf-AsEQdrlDSlqMf1Qf29k1xqCuhyphenhyphenEeewSkVdWO/s1600/IMG_1713.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2mbvjBt1fT6a0nFaq3DdHYCytYcQZtcP-wpLwjMPQxDHL2ObLKyBhXM97ZEvzPGBkdwObjWgcKCOO2AoiZTR-jNYpCoRsLSlP_B1ePlf-AsEQdrlDSlqMf1Qf29k1xqCuhyphenhyphenEeewSkVdWO/s640/IMG_1713.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Next the paint colours in lovely shades of blue and hints of green.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFdGVTz8O60_CrVDuMQSkoIT2Rd-NrZm8WNvBmFk68E5ESsKurqP4X9Bm2fYXjKiv9dIWH4eMZIpEJn0FrNtlszVI8_eYVJYjzZ-aretvEQXak_EkUjZferDLtLlqrmhz7nQAr4e7xEaW4/s1600/IMG_1711.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFdGVTz8O60_CrVDuMQSkoIT2Rd-NrZm8WNvBmFk68E5ESsKurqP4X9Bm2fYXjKiv9dIWH4eMZIpEJn0FrNtlszVI8_eYVJYjzZ-aretvEQXak_EkUjZferDLtLlqrmhz7nQAr4e7xEaW4/s640/IMG_1711.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Starting with strips of colour and leaving a small gap between each band, use 2 colours on the brush and blend the paints....don't forget the edges of the box canvas.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX4NzEaY24WD9vOHHx9BKMfgtWbzZo2DxP5vEIj56PNIenrqa2X3dHvObbrucM3_uDFm8bTQsAS0nID_u_TV5BbXuTSs6fa_lztCNr0-XHeCi4QqZYHD71tss9Rf83XrZ_09qayv4tPsxm/s1600/IMG_1715.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX4NzEaY24WD9vOHHx9BKMfgtWbzZo2DxP5vEIj56PNIenrqa2X3dHvObbrucM3_uDFm8bTQsAS0nID_u_TV5BbXuTSs6fa_lztCNr0-XHeCi4QqZYHD71tss9Rf83XrZ_09qayv4tPsxm/s640/IMG_1715.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A little stamping in archival inks and I'm using one of the new JOFY sets. A little gold already creeping in...and some gesso to highlight the raised areas.<br />

A fairly simple canvas and fun to try something different. Hope you'll have a dabble at Ombré and join in with our challenge. Remember you don't have to make a whole project in this style just a part could show this magical shaded effect...have fun! Hugs Ruth x</div>

Hi everyone, time for our next challenge at <a href="http://stampsandstencils.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/in-meadow.html" target="_blank"><i><span style="color: purple;">Stamps and Stencils</span></i></a> and this month the lovely <a href="https://fisherscardsandcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/in-meadow-at-stamps-and-stencils.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>Rachel</i></span></a> has chosen the theme which is all about meadows...<br />
<br />
<i>'Meadows are such amazing places - lots of different grasses, wild flowers and wonderful wildlife. Let your imagination run wild ...and use stamps or stencils too! Enjoy!'</i><br />

Hi everyone, it's time for our next challenge at <a href="http://stampsandstencils.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>Stamps and Stencils</i></span></a> and <a href="http://www.stampingsuestyle.com/" target="_blank"><i><span style="color: purple;">Sue</span></i></a> is our lovely host....and we are playing with wax this month! Here in her own words is what she wants us to do.<br />
<br />
<i>' I have long been fascinated with the subject of Encaustic Art<b>, </b>melting wax to create many layers and trapping pieces of fibres and papers between the layers of melted wax just seems magical to me. So for this challenge I want to see some wax on your projects, whether it's just dribbled, melted and then stamped into or a wax embellishment as long as you include some stamping or stencilling the choice is yours !'</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEamDCeXkS9M0XmA9G3bzNCmfBRRF9SKOZ-_IqmbXByYqab9NL8riGynzfj42oOq4AtTYQAdr9y_y0Gxbv2cZFx8VGLaKHscyhu9az8T9ULV0_ZaolFIlqmmvnla3a8XwH9nuprxKxx9j0/s1600/IMG_0113.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEamDCeXkS9M0XmA9G3bzNCmfBRRF9SKOZ-_IqmbXByYqab9NL8riGynzfj42oOq4AtTYQAdr9y_y0Gxbv2cZFx8VGLaKHscyhu9az8T9ULV0_ZaolFIlqmmvnla3a8XwH9nuprxKxx9j0/s640/IMG_0113.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
My first inspiration post at Stamps and Stencils was about wax and had some basic information you can refer to <i><span style="color: purple;"><a href="http://stampsandstencils.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/hot-wax.html" target="_blank">link here.</a> </span></i>This time I thought I'd try and explore wax on paper and the wonderful 'transparentizing' effect it can have. I thought this could be a good starting point without expensive supplies to tempt and inspire you to just dabble with your melt pot, a little beeswax and paper.<br />
<br />
I made some eco leaf prints with autumn leaves last year which I hope to blog about it at some stage. I chose one of the pieces that I thought could be enhanced with some stamping before coating with encaustic medium. Firstly I've added a lovely quote from one of Alison Bomber's word plates.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4q7cWe6S3KkMlIOafUHM3YY1mwQcVIe7ocNaOrBtj9rhKrfX7s5yVkStkYZF7vEiOn1KOB1VU6otoDQPijzyhu5bmb5jaF1Dfk3BCxV3L2m8GIKtn3jfzEL34kUKdQtvNNs7etATsA-Dx/s1600/IMG_0106.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4q7cWe6S3KkMlIOafUHM3YY1mwQcVIe7ocNaOrBtj9rhKrfX7s5yVkStkYZF7vEiOn1KOB1VU6otoDQPijzyhu5bmb5jaF1Dfk3BCxV3L2m8GIKtn3jfzEL34kUKdQtvNNs7etATsA-Dx/s640/IMG_0106.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now some stamping to compliment what is already there.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm-W3HNzmwiltOluHCr4xxFX-aNLH3EoV5IDj6BQTpjIy_eM2fHJaimfFp3-QdPvWrSfvbVeygsmQ8b1KFMhTJGFL7ZoaqcZe8nNLXx2wLPTu9_XUsJNBdCOnfAM7QYw2e3cLEASos7gi2/s1600/IMG_0107.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm-W3HNzmwiltOluHCr4xxFX-aNLH3EoV5IDj6BQTpjIy_eM2fHJaimfFp3-QdPvWrSfvbVeygsmQ8b1KFMhTJGFL7ZoaqcZe8nNLXx2wLPTu9_XUsJNBdCOnfAM7QYw2e3cLEASos7gi2/s640/IMG_0107.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
When you first put the wax on it will sit on top. Fusing and another coat later it will start to sink into the paper. Normally you should have a solid heat resistant base such as wood or encaustic board; if I had made it on canvas it would sit on top and crack but handmade paper or good quality watercolour paper will absorb some of the wax and won't crack....unless you choose to crumple it up or fold it of course!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmSamkmLjLMZDeeYysBdt373tIjNfxBbJnrcVHyPIEu6DwIKtUSdnd0vQjXTlBpeYV7FJO-mqy9VQ6Qo21Uu-DVy8ZUmsRD4huNH_cbOLJUHC8S_FnlvBqyT8cXyW2L2bHLWVCX-DQKJUq/s1600/IMG_0108.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmSamkmLjLMZDeeYysBdt373tIjNfxBbJnrcVHyPIEu6DwIKtUSdnd0vQjXTlBpeYV7FJO-mqy9VQ6Qo21Uu-DVy8ZUmsRD4huNH_cbOLJUHC8S_FnlvBqyT8cXyW2L2bHLWVCX-DQKJUq/s640/IMG_0108.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I've added a few drops of white encaustic medium. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgkpuJvPfEQg1bSDE37WAtAcThdvi-UJ0ZqCGol86ZvhpFzE2NI2b-J8zZ-TylgI7Ra6mr7T9XkkJYTH6EWgJPfskbD4pqAmpRcSW7we5EaqO9ocPtjoZ5NaOsXIqbtmkzCxGwLGtQUfaY/s1600/IMG_0122.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgkpuJvPfEQg1bSDE37WAtAcThdvi-UJ0ZqCGol86ZvhpFzE2NI2b-J8zZ-TylgI7Ra6mr7T9XkkJYTH6EWgJPfskbD4pqAmpRcSW7we5EaqO9ocPtjoZ5NaOsXIqbtmkzCxGwLGtQUfaY/s640/IMG_0122.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I also used a stencil and some gold leaf rubbed through it. If adding leaf metal or mica it must always be on the top layer if you want to keep the shine.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEuGEbJTuG2izUIFHYFvydcqMQI95rMXT4cFR4hDPUA12dnb39O1PFTaATkqiyrlB5aRiqW8nvL2pIeoqCNFoakJb3iot1oVm2DMdqURUma7V60qVG_iYI5hnDXg9sVD_T7-KcPvWhviNq/s1600/IMG_0124.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEuGEbJTuG2izUIFHYFvydcqMQI95rMXT4cFR4hDPUA12dnb39O1PFTaATkqiyrlB5aRiqW8nvL2pIeoqCNFoakJb3iot1oVm2DMdqURUma7V60qVG_iYI5hnDXg9sVD_T7-KcPvWhviNq/s640/IMG_0124.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
One of the things I love about encaustic are the depth of layers created and how the wax softens everything.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2cgs3Gw07MOv2Myj71badgsxuhesPQjglbEzSm8N_3xFM6fn6x03Q37Bp6xpPlyd8uNHeLI9ECmyag45ihc-gGMOBdCtmPACqAmOQXCLJsA_ONGehwCBPAO0QJfADJ28F_F8a100eL4O8/s1600/IMG_0138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2cgs3Gw07MOv2Myj71badgsxuhesPQjglbEzSm8N_3xFM6fn6x03Q37Bp6xpPlyd8uNHeLI9ECmyag45ihc-gGMOBdCtmPACqAmOQXCLJsA_ONGehwCBPAO0QJfADJ28F_F8a100eL4O8/s640/IMG_0138.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I'm hoping you can see the lovely sheen you get with encaustic when 'polished', I used a nylon pop sock to buff it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCHUlo86NsJLYD2tQnf20lDqgh3nfi69_1WLXsOq9CQKTTz8MbFX5br3svXjAJx_fAiW9AW__zzMCQ-QxtkdJ-2B8kZyPmxCJL5Zj5Axd4H3BQ7g8EHpING5R5vNRSK8pcUY6dAwVqAypS/s1600/IMG_0117.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCHUlo86NsJLYD2tQnf20lDqgh3nfi69_1WLXsOq9CQKTTz8MbFX5br3svXjAJx_fAiW9AW__zzMCQ-QxtkdJ-2B8kZyPmxCJL5Zj5Axd4H3BQ7g8EHpING5R5vNRSK8pcUY6dAwVqAypS/s640/IMG_0117.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The frame is painted with chalk fresco and a touch of treasure gold and moss green ink. I used a double sided tape sheet to stick the paper to the wooden frame back and chose not to use the glass that came with it.<br />
<br />

Hi everyone, I always get excited when I have a post over on the <a href="http://blog.paperartsy.co.uk/2018/02/2018-2-seths-new-fresco-paints-bobbin.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>PaperArtsy</i></span></a> blog and tonight I'm sharing a little labour of love. I've made a mini book from a wooden reel that I've had in my stash and as serendipity would have it I'm combining some of the new <a href="http://thealteredpage.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>Seth Apter</i></span></a> paints (Set 3) with <a href="http://alisonbomber.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>Alison Bomber's</i></span></a> wonderful word plates.....I 'reely' enjoyed making this!</div>

Hi everyone, <a href="http://cwcardcreations.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>Cec</i></span></a> is our lovely host for this months <a href="http://stampsandstencils.blogspot.co.uk/2018/02/off-to-collage.html" target="_blank">challenge</a>... here's what she wants us to do.<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 13.2px;"><i>'No I am not sending you to school but thought it might be fun this month to make a collage. So I've created a little wall hanging in vintage tones, with lots of layers.<br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
I've gone for a slightly different take on this and decided to go down the using up scraps route and make a collaged background. Taking a cue from Cec, I had a piece of cardboard lying on my desk and that's where I started. Tweezers to rip a few holes in the base and then I've glued down some book text.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6YEVl0QMUw9Xjz8OB5Rd1OvXhJtEtaZHL9QKVCbR1W7swhsUUU2exDiM64zyhoOFsR4sAUED0FA1OAtIfnzljX-ninwNhDlRZ-ZuDeVGCGXoeHA_rbQuTfXCZZI_8697ZsynLRvupT5WU/s1600/IMG_9571.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6YEVl0QMUw9Xjz8OB5Rd1OvXhJtEtaZHL9QKVCbR1W7swhsUUU2exDiM64zyhoOFsR4sAUED0FA1OAtIfnzljX-ninwNhDlRZ-ZuDeVGCGXoeHA_rbQuTfXCZZI_8697ZsynLRvupT5WU/s640/IMG_9571.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Layering all sorts of scraps as a backdrop and then I decided the focal point would be a small photo frame with something in it...at this stage I wasn't sure what though!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSQk-UpkD3CUw6RZ3bvYX3_0hNnjDuyAOVwfp4BqapUk358huYJD-TvVJbU9mAvscgpkENyrxN-0N5GwO3XavWdhqYfsr0wGMlkIr3xn86yewKycGIz_gVHVkB4TIK_jUJzvAAHD1yHVPG/s1600/IMG_9572.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSQk-UpkD3CUw6RZ3bvYX3_0hNnjDuyAOVwfp4BqapUk358huYJD-TvVJbU9mAvscgpkENyrxN-0N5GwO3XavWdhqYfsr0wGMlkIr3xn86yewKycGIz_gVHVkB4TIK_jUJzvAAHD1yHVPG/s640/IMG_9572.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
As all the items I was using were neutral tones, I decided to keep to that colour theme and just use a little gesso to tie them together. Lots of dry brushing on the outer edges and a little more centrally. I masked off the framed area so that when I added the image it would stand out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpHrlFR2KCZb8t-04utf3MmCkHOaTtOgDIK9AJsJpEh8uE88tMpV1TF0BUQWemHupnm5LGb8dVPYlpHx-XXWquVR-2b3I9qlyWQUuxAvAnJV-E1PRd9-q4h2P98kKC9pT1gfTHn8JVX3YX/s1600/IMG_9573+%25282%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpHrlFR2KCZb8t-04utf3MmCkHOaTtOgDIK9AJsJpEh8uE88tMpV1TF0BUQWemHupnm5LGb8dVPYlpHx-XXWquVR-2b3I9qlyWQUuxAvAnJV-E1PRd9-q4h2P98kKC9pT1gfTHn8JVX3YX/s640/IMG_9573+%25282%2529.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Love how dry brushing highlights all the texture. Add in some micro beads (art stones), grunge paste through a stencil and the main image (Crafty Individuals) stamped on tissue before gluing down.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikmRRl8QSOONR5rViEFzxM9TdKbhvE6YQ-NPGN_WraXuRYzkJWjWBZxtfChbL04VDiQ1j3vLj0DLflptlq2sSLFBRrH23rbrt7WitnPdGQPcH7-9KjDFNBTWXk50X8k8yCzhC9vrpa5eVZ/s1600/IMG_9580.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikmRRl8QSOONR5rViEFzxM9TdKbhvE6YQ-NPGN_WraXuRYzkJWjWBZxtfChbL04VDiQ1j3vLj0DLflptlq2sSLFBRrH23rbrt7WitnPdGQPcH7-9KjDFNBTWXk50X8k8yCzhC9vrpa5eVZ/s640/IMG_9580.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Love this effect, it gives such depth to the piece and because it is straight over the collaged elements it fits in perfectly. Some stamping in potting soil archival and paint splats.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy7xLv8b6mwkj1SpzXk60et1VhldHfTgpClyoi80wkUTwb7jExDBCoaqGkzi7y688Vc4M05MLFnozTicJLiTp9_YRFy0ouWP9dOh0C6jP41uDJRvjEOSMccAWabRnWTPmUtFCKdRHwhArx/s1600/IMG_9686.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy7xLv8b6mwkj1SpzXk60et1VhldHfTgpClyoi80wkUTwb7jExDBCoaqGkzi7y688Vc4M05MLFnozTicJLiTp9_YRFy0ouWP9dOh0C6jP41uDJRvjEOSMccAWabRnWTPmUtFCKdRHwhArx/s640/IMG_9686.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
More dry brushing in shades of brown (toffee, chocolate pudding and stone) to highlight the texture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9rVistFgUHXakLesK10zbFjZ62KJIMTNBKfUvAwmF23AkUaAcCSyFdhyphenhyphenyCzxmk2l95em1pM8DoALdgAy42wc2TofpQq1g2GthS9JABsZ2ktprO_zeNZiZlLJUOZRp0mwfFmxjmyD8_wf1/s1600/IMG_9685.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9rVistFgUHXakLesK10zbFjZ62KJIMTNBKfUvAwmF23AkUaAcCSyFdhyphenhyphenyCzxmk2l95em1pM8DoALdgAy42wc2TofpQq1g2GthS9JABsZ2ktprO_zeNZiZlLJUOZRp0mwfFmxjmyD8_wf1/s640/IMG_9685.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The frame was altered by covering with book text, adding 2 layers of clear UTEE and a tickle of treasure gold.<br />
<br />

Hi everyone, welcome to a New Year and a new challenge over at <a href="https://stampsandstencils.blogspot.com/2018/01/on-bright-side.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>Stamps and Stencils</i></span></a>. It's my turn to host and here's what I want you to do....<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 13.2px;">'It may still be winter but it's a brand New Year, the days will be soon getting longer, and pops of bright colours will soon start to appear in the garden. This month I'd like you to dazzle us by using lots of bright colours in your Spring themed creations ...and don't forget to use stamps or stencils</span></span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 13.2px;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirZcLda_tDOIbzfDx1qYvUp7BFM8akh6ViylviMJvlj2QMX0N9pEiSNhcmS797iQvNKvMh5kiKbG1jGTtw3-v_mEn-1IBAF80osceuJ9lwlbgmozx-iI8h6ZICryIRCu_uYnHAl9QOPgnN/s1600/IMG_9520.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirZcLda_tDOIbzfDx1qYvUp7BFM8akh6ViylviMJvlj2QMX0N9pEiSNhcmS797iQvNKvMh5kiKbG1jGTtw3-v_mEn-1IBAF80osceuJ9lwlbgmozx-iI8h6ZICryIRCu_uYnHAl9QOPgnN/s640/IMG_9520.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 13.2px;"><br /></span>
Oh yes, I bet your eyes are open now! I just wanted to create something with those zingy colours that you get in Spring, in previous 'Spring' posts I have often talked about the acid colours and how I love lime green leaves, purple iris and crocus and all those fresh colours, so I did something I haven't done for ages and created some journal pages.<br />
<br />
I started with gessoed pages of an old book and plumped for some crayola twistable stix (trying to revisit and use some crafty goodies). I didn't know where to start but remembered Donna Downey's advice and to just get something on the pages.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisAL3m1Xa8nLdmeFTad3irM6Ngh7uUvMz1oxncQ3NGJ_dQgzhWDl3-XrN5R8pSuyvJglGwlKjUuYHwKIzLYB-JFMBGzB5SGLxKMdgSg9A_3FMrKISFmi6ER0tI9caw42DYMsY3t8ts8fJa/s1600/IMG_9490.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisAL3m1Xa8nLdmeFTad3irM6Ngh7uUvMz1oxncQ3NGJ_dQgzhWDl3-XrN5R8pSuyvJglGwlKjUuYHwKIzLYB-JFMBGzB5SGLxKMdgSg9A_3FMrKISFmi6ER0tI9caw42DYMsY3t8ts8fJa/s640/IMG_9490.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I scribbled in a few areas and spread it out so the pages were covered but some areas quite subtly. Love how it's picking up the texture. Next I used some Kim Dellow masks to wipe away some of the wax and decided to use a coordinating stamp set EKD06 too and stamped a few leaf sprigs.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE7MGlpKQCAwRu68mOXxKEFoaIOerOaWgV-MctDApRlC84bZ4O8_Xr0VyOt6tKiBr68w7vAoTElDM6BH6a6YtD4Gj8IUogZQt0XSk6ntyLlo8BD4lkZfg1CAukoqtrPbbOa1O8z-oXLYZe/s1600/IMG_9492.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE7MGlpKQCAwRu68mOXxKEFoaIOerOaWgV-MctDApRlC84bZ4O8_Xr0VyOt6tKiBr68w7vAoTElDM6BH6a6YtD4Gj8IUogZQt0XSk6ntyLlo8BD4lkZfg1CAukoqtrPbbOa1O8z-oXLYZe/s640/IMG_9492.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A few Lindy's Stamp Gang spray drips and splashes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvFXzqfDXGHlX_G-TU3k27v0SI0gUt_HvjiAlH8ensJxW_HQmukiCbSRzaTgi6jPLVQ4jBbDcBMG2FkM3_V-gklsdrEyuaP2Yr8Hi8k_giIQEq_UDpRFRPMd0L2hu-YyRvSYy4RH4NWmFN/s1600/IMG_9493.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvFXzqfDXGHlX_G-TU3k27v0SI0gUt_HvjiAlH8ensJxW_HQmukiCbSRzaTgi6jPLVQ4jBbDcBMG2FkM3_V-gklsdrEyuaP2Yr8Hi8k_giIQEq_UDpRFRPMd0L2hu-YyRvSYy4RH4NWmFN/s640/IMG_9493.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Stencils with transparent gel mixed with Zesty Zing fresco paint and another chequerboard one with white fresco...and more splashes...a few orange paint splashes crept in too to help make the pages pop.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS3s0cPL9QrRps5nALGMITovgojGn3t151jUIPnheMp4YBVh-cic4hHCi3RGKfDNGCa-sRSTLWk733CW-oF331jr50Jd4o3-zDqhs7yYOfmikOR-GeNpyNeviqDn9NpPhjkTrQc6FEhStl/s1600/IMG_9495.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS3s0cPL9QrRps5nALGMITovgojGn3t151jUIPnheMp4YBVh-cic4hHCi3RGKfDNGCa-sRSTLWk733CW-oF331jr50Jd4o3-zDqhs7yYOfmikOR-GeNpyNeviqDn9NpPhjkTrQc6FEhStl/s640/IMG_9495.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Fresco paint on card before stamping out and just love the contrast of the layered background with the uniformly coloured flowers. Popalicious or what?! (I know, I think spring fever has already visited me)<br />
<br />

Well not quite but I thought before Christmas festivities are officially over and the decorations come down I'd share the last few Christmas cards I made for my family. Sneak peeks may already have been spotted on instagram so this is just a quick canter through the snow!<br />

Sometimes card that has been used to mop up splashes or used to clean a brayer are just perfect.<br />

Hi everyone, the 20th, not long to go now and I'm more organised than usual (no everything is not done...but this year I might get the presents wrapped before midnight on am Christmas Eve!). I'm back again with a few more cards to share.<br />
You may have noticed in my Christmas posts that I have a fondness for simple shapes or motifs and often use snowflakes, stars and trees...lots of trees. I usually cut a simple triangle shape or make a triangle shape with strips of paper, buttons etc.<br />
I love Anneke De Clerck's style of cards and in particular these Christmas Tree card ideas <a href="https://somefiddlingonthekitchentable.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/christmas-circles-1.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>here </i></span></a>and <a href="https://somefiddlingonthekitchentable.blogspot.co.uk/2017/11/christmas-circles-6.html" target="_blank"><i><span style="color: purple;">here</span></i></a> . If you hop across to her blog <a href="http://somefiddlingonthekitchentable.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>'Some fiddling on the kitchen table'</i></span></a> she has a section on the right of Christmas card ideas, well worth a look.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdEZ78vPtesePGcGWdGIqe1KRGEy2H5a2_9li_bBsreK_XqSKLrQbQmqhUwd8mTy7mvGNsQieLmWipyMppRVxJZnm2Bi0eZxHD_8rH0PqKkU30FuO8zz0arxLO-gM7uwSf78gaOuUPYgRx/s1600/IMG_9365.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdEZ78vPtesePGcGWdGIqe1KRGEy2H5a2_9li_bBsreK_XqSKLrQbQmqhUwd8mTy7mvGNsQieLmWipyMppRVxJZnm2Bi0eZxHD_8rH0PqKkU30FuO8zz0arxLO-gM7uwSf78gaOuUPYgRx/s640/IMG_9365.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
So I finally got to dabble with my Distress Oxide reinkers. I used some drops on a piece of cut and dry foam to ink up a stamp, spritzed and stamped...instant background, more spritzing as I dried them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The stamp was a bargain stamp from at least 15 years ago, grey rubber unmounted not sure who made it but it looks a bit like the texture tread ones as there is a positive and negative to it. Not a Christmas theme but I thought it worked so well and got carried away with all the lovely distress colours.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiApmOS2-oy6Nr08pWvb_tVhs0ZPPMNH7zUzOlhGcBRhKKqvROcDoQea8bihe7XXyPmysl0_IVc6yI3eHRCRpb9UcTz2iMGR7mS0WMBLEL-_rQoIKf_8cBphyphenhypheny_hvmlba10uzmR4YuJ7uT5/s1600/IMG_9369.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiApmOS2-oy6Nr08pWvb_tVhs0ZPPMNH7zUzOlhGcBRhKKqvROcDoQea8bihe7XXyPmysl0_IVc6yI3eHRCRpb9UcTz2iMGR7mS0WMBLEL-_rQoIKf_8cBphyphenhypheny_hvmlba10uzmR4YuJ7uT5/s640/IMG_9369.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I recently bought a Stamp-a-ma-jig and got the hang of it and now find I'm using it constantly for stamping perfectly positioned sentiments. Vellum scraps and enameled card bits were used up too...another plus!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Strips of white dots were brayered with different coloured fresco paints. I originally thought I'd be able to peel the dots off to use them but found they all had an edge of paint so ended up leaving them on the backing sheet which because it was non stick gave a lovely web effect. Love this purple one!</div>

Hi everyone, just thought I'd share a few more Christmas cards in case anyone is looking for some last minute inspiration.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTQVWG9mzyWV2nkTYIB_JamAaH7O7TMnfNdsNWeYdDdoWFdGdhWhZFGmw7wl3H7meZ-dEnfZdha5qsPnyc-nXPB5k5lWkqg83-d7edo8lqYFGYRdPUmeHAXjl6CvOX0zr5K3Zlk_mnLcoz/s1600/IMG_9352.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTQVWG9mzyWV2nkTYIB_JamAaH7O7TMnfNdsNWeYdDdoWFdGdhWhZFGmw7wl3H7meZ-dEnfZdha5qsPnyc-nXPB5k5lWkqg83-d7edo8lqYFGYRdPUmeHAXjl6CvOX0zr5K3Zlk_mnLcoz/s640/IMG_9352.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I thought I'd carry on with the red, white and Kraft theme, all very simple; the snow flakes are die cut from white card that was run through a bubble embossing folder, wiped with versamark and then some white and gold glittery embossing powder was added.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYDVlx7r68QxSQDVfCnNfcsQh9oemlPOZQQ9tHZfD4rqDjq9HoSwtLc_nmLW86Xm_pNEzUpGf_cvwf59Ww1NHSE_9qHCqunBlRqypXjtnXG1ciO6FPyJzl3fm-wBjnM8H1n56n1R492yi1/s1600/IMG_9351.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYDVlx7r68QxSQDVfCnNfcsQh9oemlPOZQQ9tHZfD4rqDjq9HoSwtLc_nmLW86Xm_pNEzUpGf_cvwf59Ww1NHSE_9qHCqunBlRqypXjtnXG1ciO6FPyJzl3fm-wBjnM8H1n56n1R492yi1/s640/IMG_9351.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I never thought I'd find a use for this washi tape...until now, it's perfect for the card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvVd53joYfquIgO5esCoh2Z2dKJJpBJ2DbV3ik27K3idyx1i3Jl9lZHAQRDQts_zA9_TJhjQ1cxO9G4ue3RNvZLHsua-x0SHHT_WFmfOuMZWte65P5E9lmc9_gf4aF2VwfO9FTP3lXgDNK/s1600/IMG_9353.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvVd53joYfquIgO5esCoh2Z2dKJJpBJ2DbV3ik27K3idyx1i3Jl9lZHAQRDQts_zA9_TJhjQ1cxO9G4ue3RNvZLHsua-x0SHHT_WFmfOuMZWte65P5E9lmc9_gf4aF2VwfO9FTP3lXgDNK/s640/IMG_9353.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Now we're going back to the forgotten stash post and a few more cards made from dark card covered with chalk ink pads and I've used my first hand carved stamp....just dabbling.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hi everyone, time for our last challenge of the year over at <i><span style="color: purple;"><a href="http://stampsandstencils.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/its-beginning-to-look-alot-like.html" target="_blank">Stamps and Stencils</a></span></i> and of course we are getting festive. <a href="http://www.stampingsuestyle.com/" target="_blank"><i><span style="color: purple;">Sue</span></i></a> has chosen the theme this month and wants us to use both Stamps AND Stencils in our festive mixed media style pieces.<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 13.2px;">'Festive Stamps AND Stencils - Now normally to join in with us we ask you use either stamps or stencils, but for this challenge I want to see both and lots of them with a Festive theme ! So dig out all your stamps, maybe some long forgotten that need some love and all of your stencils and let them take centre stage ! '</span><br />
<br />
I decided to make a box full of gift tags to use this year in my present wrapping.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4GY-wm8LQOq-tY5VwNzUowEwja_ifOh-xr9WIt2pE5VEZnSpERlA3by5o3TQlVjH3SUpPd9zPbhkCUVNMcXil7MPgXlPBMt4GnWCf0EAzODYVURLOr2VNpHg3ijO1umHbUx6APkNSUoi1/s1600/IMG_9246.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4GY-wm8LQOq-tY5VwNzUowEwja_ifOh-xr9WIt2pE5VEZnSpERlA3by5o3TQlVjH3SUpPd9zPbhkCUVNMcXil7MPgXlPBMt4GnWCf0EAzODYVURLOr2VNpHg3ijO1umHbUx6APkNSUoi1/s640/IMG_9246.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I started by altering a box...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixJUxWU8HJnBM8LtbYjGu4ZazTL-GgpZeWYTItmErOTtMhxqe9yUNUQDiAThJamLM06IbaV-Uhljw80h2ZFF0UQBKX7TKcxwaBRTPRNDHdNfGhddW5kg_98vsIjaxHrV8lU9Sqy6m_sDLu/s1600/IMG_9245.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixJUxWU8HJnBM8LtbYjGu4ZazTL-GgpZeWYTItmErOTtMhxqe9yUNUQDiAThJamLM06IbaV-Uhljw80h2ZFF0UQBKX7TKcxwaBRTPRNDHdNfGhddW5kg_98vsIjaxHrV8lU9Sqy6m_sDLu/s640/IMG_9245.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
..and then made a few tags!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRnAkFOfyWaewliTiQ4TjCqschmmQ5CGL5viK91Do9QzVt6hPydufWBuY5xwRMkuI0TsyEf-SD_HHq7fe_yorQZAkTRVImizpvD3ovm5i1jVc8x38XWhMduETHUbwnG5EiTo8Kf0IPRrZI/s1600/IMG_9248.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRnAkFOfyWaewliTiQ4TjCqschmmQ5CGL5viK91Do9QzVt6hPydufWBuY5xwRMkuI0TsyEf-SD_HHq7fe_yorQZAkTRVImizpvD3ovm5i1jVc8x38XWhMduETHUbwnG5EiTo8Kf0IPRrZI/s640/IMG_9248.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
For a few years now I have been making my own Christmas wrapping paper inspired by a gorgoeus post Alison Bomber of <i><a href="http://alisonbomber.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;">Words and Pictures</span></a></i> did for <span style="color: purple; font-style: italic;"><a href="http://blog.paperartsy.co.uk/2014/11/all-wrapped-up-with-lpc-stamps-by.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;">PaperArtsy here.</span></a> </span>I love 'brown paper parcels tied up with string' and Scandanavian crisp clean motifs so here's what I came up with this year.<br />
<br />
I started off with a teabag box that I'd saved and flattened out for painting.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgejb3u_Yx6cb-gnVvyXI_mig3mt_1edtCRdvkyCZNFh1wiYGNDFmKZgihUY32XsUFNCI4xSbPnzJZeWwdbKRqfijFoQrz13zpdMtgiDYiPgBlo5fuMJpHqqjuI8m9BAxPkl-_OMRg2puXm/s1600/IMG_9216.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgejb3u_Yx6cb-gnVvyXI_mig3mt_1edtCRdvkyCZNFh1wiYGNDFmKZgihUY32XsUFNCI4xSbPnzJZeWwdbKRqfijFoQrz13zpdMtgiDYiPgBlo5fuMJpHqqjuI8m9BAxPkl-_OMRg2puXm/s640/IMG_9216.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I still have some Irish Cream fresco paint so used that but didn't add any embellishments as I wanted the box to be practical.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpX4_-4JxdAD5JYt7n-sw10z9ufZfpIf_Y5fYCT6DwwAelshSyjxfC4At8UVF2j4Yi1o-kXojASP0LPuBUv80EVjKT3YpuF33WD8TlArRzyJvkzgZjRiewh0ZKjXOY2FPJQcapTqLhzJsI/s1600/IMG_9217.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpX4_-4JxdAD5JYt7n-sw10z9ufZfpIf_Y5fYCT6DwwAelshSyjxfC4At8UVF2j4Yi1o-kXojASP0LPuBUv80EVjKT3YpuF33WD8TlArRzyJvkzgZjRiewh0ZKjXOY2FPJQcapTqLhzJsI/s640/IMG_9217.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnxI4AM7saeYOMDACFipOJ3EMTDS79JlRTKVZg9xN7ltRoaDFzVUKBH3S6tewZbCRSpvM7CPcOzN7DZqA7jZG03VGFmdhh6xRJUtk57CEv5VLtI1aoBMOkVWnQZNjuDqRwdPWx7m8ZSUqw/s1600/IMG_9243.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnxI4AM7saeYOMDACFipOJ3EMTDS79JlRTKVZg9xN7ltRoaDFzVUKBH3S6tewZbCRSpvM7CPcOzN7DZqA7jZG03VGFmdhh6xRJUtk57CEv5VLtI1aoBMOkVWnQZNjuDqRwdPWx7m8ZSUqw/s640/IMG_9243.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used cherry red stazon to stamp the images and had some matching card which would be perfect to make the tags from. These were my ingredients. The stamps on the right are a Waltzing Mouse set which unfortunately you can't get now BUT I am sure there are lots of alternatives out there that could be used.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiphkPvirF_OtilzyTgyxucWRdwJkVLL_YACQQ5HhT6Pmjf_jJJNn33RqGg5fpFA65znzV2D0fz_cELgWvH8sGDgnJ2R-bMcsr7NLBNHhkhuW6ttWR3XvzYlZ5HnP7FgmZ7BrxeMwa08a01/s1600/IMG_9294.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiphkPvirF_OtilzyTgyxucWRdwJkVLL_YACQQ5HhT6Pmjf_jJJNn33RqGg5fpFA65znzV2D0fz_cELgWvH8sGDgnJ2R-bMcsr7NLBNHhkhuW6ttWR3XvzYlZ5HnP7FgmZ7BrxeMwa08a01/s640/IMG_9294.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
As we are a mixed media blog I had to embellish the tags a little and used crackle paint, teabag paper, tissue, stitching, foiling and embossing enamel in the process. I don't think the tags need step outs but it's rather photo heavy now so you can see them in more detail.<br />
<br />

Hi everyone, I can't remember the last time I sat down to make something that wasn't for a deadline of some sort, but I have snatched a little time this afternoon to enter the <a href="http://blog.paperartsy.co.uk/2017/11/2017-topic-17-shades-of-white-intro-and.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>PaperArsty 'Shades of White'</i></span> </a>challenge...although this is a last minute entry into the challenge!<br />
Life has been pretty hectic and although I've doodled and dabbled and been exploring eco printing of leaves on paper during the summer I've not yet made or finished anything until today.<br />
<br />
Here's a little canvas I made this afternoon with a tiny leaf print.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_YhOjOX2eTwuuLNeil-QC_QAVXOYAMiZHpyXVW9W0BZHML5omsAOmdDV16_ssb4lGMErT557jDoxhGl6jv3OUAiq3W1meV3zJs6L0Oo_hXYNuPoJoOLLODaeGvv0rMCN5HAGJE9k7CEHg/s1600/IMG_9168+%25283%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_YhOjOX2eTwuuLNeil-QC_QAVXOYAMiZHpyXVW9W0BZHML5omsAOmdDV16_ssb4lGMErT557jDoxhGl6jv3OUAiq3W1meV3zJs6L0Oo_hXYNuPoJoOLLODaeGvv0rMCN5HAGJE9k7CEHg/s640/IMG_9168+%25283%2529.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I loved the topic intro (my kind of style) and all the posts have been inspirational but when I saw the <a href="http://blog.paperartsy.co.uk/2017/11/2017-17-white-white-odyssey-with-esn-by.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: purple;"><i>Florence Adam</i></span></a> post here, I knew I wanted to create a finished project.<br />
<br />
Just a few step outs and apologies for photo quality this was tricky to photograph in the fading winter light.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAdXuNcYJdwizJalbuEC_UF_J1Qc8H1AyXb-0JQhiJEAwZiuw2rov1poVHL-XMnujnCvuKY0FtT4bdMmjfNLLQ13SiLeC-16HtWSueTEJ9NVpQp7caTQU9Z5dTLDZH29YAgN4Qt8TYrazh/s1600/IMG_9150.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAdXuNcYJdwizJalbuEC_UF_J1Qc8H1AyXb-0JQhiJEAwZiuw2rov1poVHL-XMnujnCvuKY0FtT4bdMmjfNLLQ13SiLeC-16HtWSueTEJ9NVpQp7caTQU9Z5dTLDZH29YAgN4Qt8TYrazh/s640/IMG_9150.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I love using up scraps and there are so many shades of white in my scraps! I have used some gesso to soften some of the creamier tones.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGwkz6gvvrKK8bmIa1rm0yRQ9qw0TFs5y0M3E384XdQpyBuIWyBzS-MJELQ2DmPU9TODXK5kd6LA8-mnphsm2YsROJRvkwFUKS-dxh7AwXbWfakuJfdMJgHcyyAB4H4v6fXcfNt9ncXD5d/s1600/IMG_9151.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGwkz6gvvrKK8bmIa1rm0yRQ9qw0TFs5y0M3E384XdQpyBuIWyBzS-MJELQ2DmPU9TODXK5kd6LA8-mnphsm2YsROJRvkwFUKS-dxh7AwXbWfakuJfdMJgHcyyAB4H4v6fXcfNt9ncXD5d/s640/IMG_9151.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
It was fairly quick to assemble and there is some stamping on the vellum under the leaf print and I added a 'W' for white.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaxlD-bgschcQm5aX4E0M4pWZWPdIA0jR4iYBBIKAFRo5RnI0enwKHA3Zf869r2sO9vvyxAgTR47rphpS5eeb04RSXeRwq9qKwTJTetx-J-szpHPIVFnglu5b0YBezD5c9rGvdMHwrs4-K/s1600/IMG_9199.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaxlD-bgschcQm5aX4E0M4pWZWPdIA0jR4iYBBIKAFRo5RnI0enwKHA3Zf869r2sO9vvyxAgTR47rphpS5eeb04RSXeRwq9qKwTJTetx-J-szpHPIVFnglu5b0YBezD5c9rGvdMHwrs4-K/s640/IMG_9199.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I think I went a bit overboard with the art stones though.<br />
<br />
