'Time Flies' at Stamps and Stencils

Hi everyone, first of 2 posts from me today. Over at Stamps and Stencils Yvonne is our very talented host this month and has chosen 'Time Flies'...very apt for me at the moment! We would like to see clocks, watches or any other time related element as  a focus of your project. Please do hop across and see what the talented DT have created to inspire you.

I've created a 'time' inspired panel. The starting point for this was a gelli print in vintage colours.

I thought the green stencil/ mask I'd used on the right looked a bit like a clock face so grew it from there. Some clear embossing paste through a clarity stencil and sanding the edges to distress it followed.

Stamping in archival inks.

The print was pulled onto a canvas textured paper.

Treasure gold had to appear!

I think it just adds that finishing touch.

The second post will be along shortly... a bit like buses, nothing from me for a while and then 2 at once! Craft room update...it's coming along nicely, decorating finished but oh boy finding a place for everything is a challenge...and it all fitted in before in less room! Well it was overflowing if I'm honest. I'm still not up and running properly as I can't find half my stuff so my creations are with reduced supplies :-).

Thanks for stopping by, hope to be back blogging and visiting quite soon.

  2. Beautiful! I love your use of texture paste, and the different strengths of colour in the layers - absolutely enchanting. I hope you soon get sorted in your new studio - it takes a bit of time to get used to big changes doesn't it!

  6. This is really fabulous, Ruth. I love anything with a clocks/gears/steampunk theme. I think I'm almost as much of a Treasure Gold addict as you are! I just love the finishing touch as you graze your finger over the surface and bring out all that shimmering metallic loveliness! I adore gilding waxes.

  10. Wow - that multi-layered background has such dimension... I feel as though I'm peering back through time into its depths. The clock motif echoing from the gelli print to the textured stencilling to the metal elements is just wonderful.

  11. This is a great panel! I really like what I can see of the gelli print before the addition of all the yummyness.. sometimes creating with a limited amount of supplies pushes you to be even more creative :) I've heard a lot about Treasured Gold, I'll have to check it out soon!
